What does it mean to be "Called" by God?

We've all heard about ministers and others speaking about their "calling" to God. What does it mean to be "called?" Is the calling of God something "we" choose to be part of on our own... or something else?

One of the biggest areas of confusion is in how people CHOOSE a religious belief. When you look at the religious world, you can see obvious conflicting beliefs, doctrines and practices, EVEN BETWEEN GROUPS WHICH CALL THEMSELVES "CHRISTIAN."

Doesn't this seem strange to you? Does it seem logical or reasonable that God would be responsible for all the confusion, even to the point of requiring different beliefs and practices from different people to eventually go to "heaven?" Christians have been at odds with each other over doctrines for centuries, even killing each other in some cases. Is this God's doing?

Put yourself in the place of being in charge of a company. Would you run your company like God is presumably running the religious systems of this world? I don't think so. So what in the world is going on here?

Remembering that this is simply another piece of the puzzle, let's look at what the Bible DOES say about God in our lives. You've probable heard the word "calling" used in reference to anyone's response to the Bible or what they feel is the truth. However, the word DOESN'T refer to ANY kind of religious response by someone. On the contrary, it is quite a unique experience and produces quite a dramatic change in one's life.

A good example:

Galatians 1:13-16 "For you have heard of my former conduct in Judaism, how I persecuted the church of God beyond measure and [tried to] destroy it. :14 And I advanced in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries in my own nation, being more exceedingly zealous for the traditions of my fathers. :15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb and called [me] through His grace, :16 to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood."

POINT: It needs to be understood from the start that being called doesn't make anyone better than anyone else. It doesn't mean those who are truly called are the ONLY ones God plans to work with. On the contrary, it is God's will that EVERYONE reach the goal of being able to live forever. However, in the above example of Paul, he was literally KILLING the true New Testament members of the new Christian church of God, until his mind was opened to understand the truth.

1 Corinthians 1:26 "For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, [are called.] 27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: 29 That no flesh should glory in his presence."

POINT: God isn't calling those who are strong, intelligent, "good," rich or any other attribute we in the physical world would choose by. He has a specific purpose in calling the weak of the world, those who have a lot of changing to do.

What is a "calling?"

John 6:44 "No man can come to me, except the Father which has sent me "DRAW" (emphasis mine throughout) him: and I will raise him up at the last day. :65 And he said, Therefore said I to you, that no man can come to me, except it were given to him of my Father." (Repeated in verse :65)

POINT: Here Christ is telling us that "NO ONE" can come to Christ unless the Father actually "draws" or "calls" that person to do so.

Matthew 4:19 "And he said to them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men."

POINT: Christ, here, goes to those already called by the Father. They didn't come to Christ.

John 17:24 "Father, I will that they also, whom you have given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which you have given me: for you loved me before the foundation of the world."

POINT: Here, again, is Christ's own statement that the Father actually "gave" those whom were with Christ, beyond the 12 apostles. People didn't simply choose to follow Christ.

Matt 16:18 "And I say also to you, That you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell (the grave, or death) shall not prevail against it (the church).

POINT: The word "church" is translated from the Greek word, NT:1577, "ekklesia," meaning, "a calling out," or "called out ones." Christ said He would build this church with those called out. To be "called out," one must be called out of "something or "from" something.

Rev 18:4 "And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that you be not partakers of her sins, and that you receive not of her plagues."

Luke 12:32 "Fear not, little flock; (NOT a billion people) for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom."

Matthew 11:27 "All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knows the Son, but the Father; neither knows any man the Father, save the Son, and [he] to whomsoever the Son will reveal [him]."

POINT: Christ tells us that only HE can reveal the Father to any of us. It is God's choice to call, but Christ is the one who takes over from there.

Matthew 13:10 "And the disciples came, and said to him, Why do you speak to them in parables? :11 He answered and said to them, Because it is "GIVEN" to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. :13... herefore (for this reason) speak I to them in parables: because they seeing, see not; and hearing, they hear not, neither do they understand. :14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, (God's will for this now) which says, By hearing you shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing you shall see, and shall not perceive: :15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and [their] ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with [their] eyes, and hear with [their] ears, and should understand with [their] heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. :16 But blessed [are] your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. :17 For verily I say to you, that many prophets and righteous [men] have desired to see [those things] which you see, and have not seen [them]; and to hear [those things] which you hear, and have not heard [them]."

Mark 4:11-12 "And he said to them, to you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but to them that are without, all [these] things are done in parables: 12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and [their] sins should be forgiven them. :34 But without a parable spoke he not to them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples."

POINT: Those called out NOW are being trained for ruling with Christ in the Millennium, but those NOT called CANNOT understand spiritual things NOW. This may seem unfair right now, but don't make any hasty judgments until you have all the pieces of the plan. God's plan encompasses every person who has ever lived or ever will live.

Luke 24:45 "Then "OPENED" he their "UNDERSTANDING," that they might understand the scriptures."

Deuteronomy 29:4 "Yet the LORD has not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, to this day."

Romans 8:28-30 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the "CALLED" according to [his] purpose. :29 For whom he did foreknew, he also did predestine [to be] conformed to the image of his Son, that he (Christ) might be the "FIRSTBORN AMONG MANY" brethren. :30 Moreover whom he did predestine, them he also "CALLED," and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified."

Acts 2:47 "... And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved."

Acts 13:48 "And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

"Ordained" = NT:5021 - tasso (tas'-so); a prolonged form of a primary verb (which latter appears only in certain tenses); to arrange in an orderly manner, i.e. assign or dispose (to a certain position or lot): KJV - addict, appoint, determine, ordain, set.

POINT: People just didn't join the true Church of God because they wanted to or could see that they needed to. It is God who decides who to call in this age. In these called out ones, He opens their minds to understand the scriptures, and His entire general plan, not perfectly or completely now, but what He WANTS them to have and as they grow in grace and knowledge.

2 Timothy 1:9 "Who has ... called [us] with an holy calling, not according to our works, (not according to our personal choice to "come to the Lord" or our greatness and goodness) but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began; 2:4 No man that wars entangles himself with the affairs of [this] life; that he may please him who has "CHOSEN" him to be a soldier."

Matthew 22:14 "For many are "CALLED," but few [are] chosen."

POINT: There are many people who actually receive the calling of God, but only a few really respond to Him at this time IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH. You will find this statement spoken many times in the New Testament, but that doesn't mean those who aren't called or who don't respond as they could now if they ARE called, are lost or hopeless. . .

2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering toward us, not willing that "ANY" should perish, but that all should come to repentance."

1 Timothy 2:4 "Who will have all men to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth."

Notice these scriptures discussing ancient Israel and their rejection of God...

Romans 11:1-11 "I say then, Has God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, [of] the tribe of Benjamin. :2 God has not cast away his people which he foreknew. Know you not what the scripture says of Elias? how he makes intercession to God against Israel, saying, 3 Lord, they have killed your prophets, and tore down your altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life. 4 But what says the answer of God to him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to [the image of] Baal. 5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the 'ELECTION' of grace." 7 "What then? Israel has not obtained that which he seeks for; but the "ELECTION" has obtained it, and the rest were "BLINDED" :8 (According as it is written, God has given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they "SHOULD" not see, and ears that they "SHOULD" not hear;) to this day. :11 I say then, Have they stumbled (been blinded) that they should fall? (Did God purposefully want them to fall and NOT have a chance at salvation?) God forbid: but [rather] through their fall, salvation [is come] to the Gentiles, for to provoke them (those who rejected it initially) to jealousy."

POINT: Is that really saying what it's saying? Scriptures tell us that it is God Himself who has allowed most people to be blinded to His truth... has NOT called most people in the past, or that are alive today. In the above scriptures, the topic is ancient Israel. Notice it says, "Have they stumbled that they should fall...?" He is telling people that because Israel did NOT obey and accept God back then doesn't mean that they are "lost," but were used for God's purpose. Read the rest of Romans 11, which discusses the wild olive branches (non-Israelite people) and how the "natural branches" would still be grafted into the tree... given their calling and eternal life if they respond to that calling.

Isa 25:7 "And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vale that is spread over all nations."

This shows us that God has allowed a vale to blind most of humanity to His truth today, but that this vale will be removed at a later time and people will be able to understand spiritual truths then.

Notice Ezek 37:1-14:

37:1 "The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones, 2 And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry."

3 And he said to me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, you know. 4 Again he said to me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say to them, O you dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. 5 Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live: 6 And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live; and you shall know that I am the LORD.

7 So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone. 8 And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them. 9 Then said he to me, Prophesy to the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus says the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live. 10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.

11 Then he said to me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts. 12 Therefore prophesy and say to them, Thus says the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. 13 And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves, 14 And shall put my spirit in you, and you shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall you know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, says the LORD.

POINT: The above clearly tells us that Israel, the SAME Israel who rejected God in the Old Testament Church, (as well as the rest of Israel - Jews and other Israelites who lived throughout the centuries since, up to and including today) will be resurrected to new physical life and THEN will have their chance to understand God's plan, just as Paul was referring to in Romans. Notice, these bones symbolically cry out believing they are lost and have no hope of redemption, but God has a plan for them as He does for ALL mankind who don't know of Him or respond to Him now.

The bible is a story about Israel, God's chosen people (all tribes, not just Jews). However, the plan doesn't exclude all those nations who are NOT of the 12 tribes. God's calling of the gentiles in the new testament shows that God's plan covers ALL of humanity at some point.

Regarding the Old Testament Israelites, notice that they did NOT have God's spirit in them...

Num 14:23 "Surely they shall not see the land which I swore to their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked me see it:
24 But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and has followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it."

Deut 5:29 "O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever."

Ezek 36:26 "A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony (blinded/deceived) heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh."

POINT: Caleb (and Joshua) had another spirit with them... the Holy Spirit, whereas most of the people of Israel didn't. Remember Ezekiel 36 spoke about God placing a "heart" in them, yet He clearly speaks of "wishing" there were "such an heart in them," in Deut. 5:29. Since Scripture doesn't contradict itself, this is proof that God's plan is different than most think.

The promises Ancient Israel had were physical and NOT spiritual at the time, but God includes even them in His greater spiritual plan for mankind.

Let's continue reading what Paul further spoke concerning ancient Israel...

Rom 11:12 "Now if the fall of them (Ancient Israelites) be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; (because they rejected God and God has turned to the Gentiles to offer salvation to) how much more their fullness? (their calling and being saved later on). 13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:

14 If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, (Jews) and might save some of them. (now). 15 For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving (salvation) of them be, but life from the dead? 16 For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches. 17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were graffed in among them, and with them partake of the root and fatness of the olive tree;

18 Boast not against the branches (ancient Israelites, and the Jews of their time). But if you boast, you bear not the root, but the root you. (We cannot boast about being called by God... it is HIS calling, not ours, and it is HIS spirit that gives us understanding of His plan). 19 you wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in. 20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:

21 For if God spared not the natural branches (who weren't called), take heed lest he also spare not you. 22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in his goodness: otherwise you also shalt be cut off. 23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again. 24 For if you wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?

25 For I would not, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in. 26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

POINT: Paul is clear in what he is referring to. Ancient Israelites, the natural branches of the good olive tree, were cut off because of their unbelief (because God didn't call them to understand His plan... blinded them for a greater purpose of salvation for all mankind and as a lesson to all), but that God will graft them BACK into the tree and bring them His spirit so they CAN understand...

Once again... Deut 5:29 "O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!

POINT: Notice above, on the one hand, that God feels pity for mankind in stating that He longed to give them a "heart" that would obey... something He could clearly give if He chose to...

Ezek 11:19 "And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh: 20 That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God."

POINT: And here, on the other hand, God tells us that He WILL give them a "heart" that WILL be able to obey Him. God will open all minds of all humanity at a time when it is right for them. For now, only a relatively few are called to prepare to rule with Jesus Christ when He returns. This isn't a contradiction, but is a clear indication that what traditional Christianity believes about salvation is incorrectly understood.

Isaiah 59:1-2 "Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither His ear heavy, that it cannot hear: 2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid [His] face from you, that He will not hear."

POINT: God makes it plain that HE is in control of all that goes on, and DOES have a plan for EVERYONE, but it just isn't at the same time for everyone.

1 Cor 15:23 "But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.

Rev 20:5 "But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This (reference to verse 4) is (describing) the first resurrection."

This alludes to another time when other dead people will be resurrected to life and to understanding God's plan.

Matthew 24:24 "For false Christ’s and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect."

Matthew 24:31 "And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other."

Luke 18:7 "And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them?"

Colossians 3:12 "Therefore, as [the] elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, long-suffering;"

1 Peter 1:2 "elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father. . ."

POINT: The "elect" are those God is training NOW and who understand the basic plan as outlined in the Sabbath and Holy Days of God. This plan isn't understood by most of traditional Christianity because they don't keep these commanded Feasts. Other "traditions" like (Christmas, Easter) are kept that are actually pagan religious practices disguised as "Christian" and cast shadows over the truth of God and the awesome future He has in store for all humanity, if they are willing.

OK, so what exactly are the "elect" or "called out ones" supposed to do? WHY are they called, anyway?

Romans 8:29 "For whom He foreknew, He also predestined [to be] conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren."

POINT: The "elect" or called out ones of God, have to be molded and shaped into the very spiritual image of Christ.

This "conforming" to Christ's image isn't a simple "I believe." It is a real, daily, lifelong commitment to a way of life. It is very much like gold or silver being refined to be a pure product. That is mankind's destiny, if we accepts our calling and fulfill it.

1 John 5:4 "For whatever is born (the end of the process of spiritual development that results in receiving a new spirit body) of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world -- our faith. :5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes..." (which encompasses far more than simply believing that Jesus is the Son of God.)

James 2:19 "You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe -- and tremble!"

(POINT) The demons know and believed that Christ is the son of God, but does that change their mind or character, or will it save them and give them eternal life with God? NO! There is much more to the process of salvation beyond merely believing...

Look at all the references to OVERCOMING - Rev 2:7, 11, 17, 26, 3:5, 12, 21, 21:7. If belief were all that was necessary, then why all these warnings?

Hebrews 12:23; "to the general assembly and church of the firstborn [who are] registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men "MADE" perfect. . ."

Isaiah 64:8 "But now, O LORD, You [are] our Father; We [are] the clay, and You our potter; And all we [are] the work of Your hand."

Jeremiah 18:6 "O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter?" says the LORD. "Look, as the clay [is] in the potter's hand, so [are] you in My hand, O house of Israel!"

(POINT) The identity of Israel in scripture and Prophecy is vital in knowing what God means when he uses the term "Israel," and other terms such as Ephraim and Manassah. Just as a potter molds and shapes the piece of clay, forming it into what he designed, so, too, are the called being molded and shaped into the very image of the Christ, the FIRSTBORN of many more who are to follow Christ.

Psalm 12:6 "The words of the LORD [are] pure words, [Like] silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times."

Daniel 12:10 "Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand."

Malachi 3:2-4 "But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He [is] like a refiner's fire And like launderer's soap. :3 He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi, And purge them as gold and silver, That they may offer to the LORD An offering in righteousness."

POINT: The process isn't easy and can be extremely difficult at times as God purifies us as Gold is purged of it's impurities.

Lastly, let's take a look at the typical mind of mankind and WHY this world is so full of problems, AND why mankind MUST CHANGE in order to ever have any hope of living forever.

Romans 8:7-9 "Because the carnal mind [is] enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. :9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His."

Romans 1:28 "And even as they did not like to retain God in [their] knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;"

Ephesians 4:18-19 "Having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart (mind) :19 who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness."

Galatians 5:19-21 "Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, :20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissension’s, heresies, :21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told [you] in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God."

1 Corinthians 2:14 "But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor "CAN" he know [them,] because they are SPIRITUALLY discerned."

Jeremiah 17:9 " The heart (mind of mankind) [is] deceitful above all [things,] And desperately wicked; Who can know it?" (who can be aware of it? Certainly NOT the natural man).

Ecclesiastes 9:3 "This [is] an evil in all that is done under the sun: that one thing [happens] to all. Truly the hearts of the sons of men are full of evil; madness [is] in their hearts while they live, and after that [they go] to the dead."

POINT: Not very flattering, is it? Why would God go to such lengths to make it clear that our minds, separate from him, and subject to Satan's influence, are far from "good?" In all that God is doing, He will leave NO stone unturned to give us every opportunity to make the right choices WITH OUR OWN MINDS, but with the help of His spirit. He is allowing us to go our own way and do our own thing, EVEN WITH THE TRUTH ALL AROUND US. There will be a time when He will use the entire human experience as an example to all of humanity, that life without the right mind and character, AND without Him and His training, leads only to death and destruction.

What many people consider as "good," God calls filthy rags...

Isa 64:6 But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags;

There is confusion regarding our "good," and God's good. Remember the garden, and two trees? What were their names?

Gen 2:9 The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Notice what it says... the tree of life... and what? The tree of the knowledge of GOOD and evil, not just evil. Many people confuse these two trees in this way: There was a tree of life and a tree of evil. No, there was a tree that was of "GOOD and evil," but this "good" was contrasted with the "tree of life." In other words, the "good" mentioned with this tree is NOT God's good, but human good, and is NOT to be confused with what God is expecting from those He calls.

We often look around us at all the decent people... people who love their families and are good to their neighbors and friends. They help where needed, they are friendly, and we enjoy them as people. They attend church and talk about God. Virtually every religion in the world has "good" people, who do "good works," and it can be tempting to equate "this" apparent good with God's good. We think, "They sure are friendly and helpful people." We consider them good people, and they do have "good," but NOT up to God's good. They are the "good" of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, not the good of the tree of life. THAT is the key to understanding where God is taking us in our molding and shaping to be like Christ.

We MUST be transformed into something else or we will not make it. All our human good is nothing to God's ultimate plan for salvation and sanctification. That takes His calling, His spirit, and our responding, overcoming, enduring, growing in grace and knowledge, etc.

The world we know is the proving ground for human behavior. As the Bible warns, things will continue to worsen (even if there, at times, seems to be improvement in society or the world scene, it is all leading to a one world government (in the making now) that will be against God's truth, but have a facade of "Christianity."

Rev 6:2 "And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given to him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer..."

Looks like Christ and sounds like Christ...

Rev 19:11 "And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war..."

But the first white horse and rider conquers through deceit and falsehood with a false Christianity...

Matt 24:5 "For many shall come in my name, saying, I am (the) Christ; (essentially actually saying and believing that "Jesus is Lord... do you know Jesus, are you saved...") and shall deceive many (with this "Christian-sounding" talk.)

The collective mind of humanity continues to degrade because of avoiding God, the truth in His word, and not obeying ALL His laws and commands that our minds need. (For details about this not so pleasant subject, see our Prophecy) article.

The calling of God is much more than what many have understood. God's plan is a great jig saw puzzle that must be put together properly and "rightly divided" to show the true plan; 2 Tim 2:15 "Study to show yourself approved to God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

Isa 28:10 "For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:"

Isa 28:13 "But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken."

Taking scriptures out of context, or not gathering all that is spoken on any given topic will only cause error in doctrines and practices. Don't let that happen to you!
